CAT!!!

I ♥ suprises!

I'm a little late on posting this one...anyway...a couple months ago while eating dinner Jaime had a "proposition" for me. Uh-oh! I was a little worried as to what he was going to say...what did he want now? That guy seems to always "need/want" something. hahaha! Apparently, this time I was completely wrong. He started off by mentioning that our wedding anniversary was coming up in a few weeks and since we didn't really do anything big on our 5 year like we planned (because I was pregnant) he wanted to make it up to me. To my surprise...which I loved...he asked if I wanted to have the diamond in my wedding ring upgraded. WHAT?! Did I hear that right?! Silly guy! Like he needed to ask. hahaha! We talked here and there about having it done someday but I never thought someday would come so soon. I was super excited but at the same time a little hesitant to take him up on his offer. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap and I didn't want him to spend too much. Of course being the great husband he is he said not to worry and that I deserved it for being such a good wifey and mommy. Awww...I love him!!! Since it was a Friday night we went to the jewelry store the following day to look around. I really didn't think I'd find anything so soon, but I did! Unfortunately, we had to come back the next day to pick it up since the jeweler was so busy, but I wasn't complaining. I was just happy to be getting it back so soon. Here is my new...improved...huge...beautiful...sparkling...did I mention HUGE...upgrade! heehee! =)

 

THANK YOU HIME! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! I still can't believe it's really mine! Til this day I constantly catch myself looking at it. heehee! The picture doesn't do it any justice...it's so much nicer & bigger in person (not that I wasn't happy with what I already had). I'm such a lucky girl! I ♥ suprises!

Since it was around lunch time when we picked it up we decided to grab a bite to eat across the street at one of our fave sushi restuarants...Taro's by Mikuni's. We had brought Madison's lunch with us so she could eat too but we decided to let her try a little tofu. Here she is trying it for the first time...

As you can probably guessed she loved it! There isn't much that this girl doesn't like...which you can see by her size. Hahaha! We didn't want to give her too much since it was her first time eating it but since then she eats just about anything except dessert! We're saving that for her first birthday even though her auntie's are dying to give it to her now. Anyway, here is one more of me and my lil' sushi date. We had such a great day! I LOVE my little fam!

She got skills!

On top of showing off her new moves Madison also figured out how to play with one of her many toys. Here she is...my baby got skills! ;)

Baby steps...

Just as many people predicted Madison is starting to walk now. I know crazy right?! Considering she's only 10 months I really didn't think she'd attempt to walk for atleast another month. Anyway, on Monday Jaime noticed she was standing up on her own a lot more often and also for longer periods of time. After I came home from work she was still doing the same thing when all of a sudden she started to take a few steps! We couldn't believe it! First her left foot, then her right, then her left again. She didn't get very far before falling but the fact she actual took steps on her own was AMAZING!!! Of course when I tried to catch her on video she stopped. Never fails that everytime she sees the camera she gets distracted and wants to grab it. Since then she has been taking steps here and there but I'm never fast enough to record her...well until today that is! I was able to catch her on my camera phone taking a couple steps. She's taken more off camera but hey I'll take what I can get for now. I'm sure I'll miss her moving this slow in no time. hahaha! Please excuse the quality/angle of the video...as I said before it was taken by my camera phone. As soon as I can catch her on the regular camera I will make sure to post it. Until then her she is...my little Madiboo...taking baby steps!

Here's another video I thought I'd share. The other day she was pushing this toy around really fast so once again I was trying to capture it on video. Ummm...no dice! I guess she wanted to show off her baby steps instead. ;)

Cupcake bites anyone?!

For last Saturday's festivities I was assigned to bring dessert. Since I wanted to practice making cupcake bites before Madison's birthday party I thought this would be the perfect time. I had already tried cake pops (which by the way are harder than they look) and they turned out ok. My next attempt was going to be cupcake pops but instead I decided to go with the bites since I heard they were a little easier. Here is a pic of my first attempt...

Not too bad right?! I didn't think so...I actually thought they came out pretty cute. Much better than the cake pops. They were super yummy too! Even the adults were raving about them. Apparently I got everyone on this cake bite kick. hahaha! They were all asking how I made them so they can make some for themselves. After explaining what I did I had to warn everyone that they are VERY time consuming. You definitely have to have patience and plenty of time on  your hands. Being the perfectionist I am it prob took me even longer since I wanted them to not only taste good but look good too. In the next few weeks I think I'll finally attempt to make the cupcake pops. Those were one of my original ideas for Madison's birthday party but I thought I'd warm up first and practice with the easier ones. They say the cupcake pops are the hardest...I guess we'll see how those turn out. I finally found the right mold to make them so I'm hoping I can set a side some time soon to test my skills. I'll keep you posted and let you know how it goes...

1st Mommy's Day!

Today was my very FIRST Mother's day! I never thought the day would come where I'd be called mommy let alone celebrate this special day and here it is! I'm a so grateful for all God has blessed me with especially becoming a mom. I can't thank him enough for answering our prayers. Madison is everything we could ever ask for if not more! She is the smartest, cutest, and funniest baby ever! I'm soooo lucky to be her mommy. I LOVE her to pieces!!! Here are a couple of pictures of the two of us on my special day.

This morning daddy and Madison surprised me with a yummy breakfast and the sweetest gift...a digital frame. There were tons of pictures already uploaded. Here are a few I thought I'd share. They did good! I love my frame and can't stop looking at all the great pictures! Hope you all had a Happy Mommy's Day!

Early Mama's Day Celebration...

This year we celebrated Mother's Day early with my family since my Auntie's 75th birthday is on Tues and the Pacquiao fight was tonight. Instead of having seperate gatherings for each occasion we decided to combine them and celebrate all at once. We headed up to my sister's house in Sacramento since she offered to host. Before we left I just couldn't resist taking a picture of my "wild child" since I looove her shirt. The minute I saw it I HAD to buy it. =) How can you resist leopard print and Hello Kitty?! I didn't realize until looking in Madison's closet recently that those two things seem to be my fave right now. Apparently, I'm very drawn to them since she has A LOT of both in there. Here she is ready to celebrate the day with the fam. Isn't she the cutest?! Daddy and I think so!

Before the fight started my niece decided she wanted to rep her roots by wearing the Filipino flag..silly girl! GO PACMAN!!!

We all had such a great time celebrating mommy's day, a birthday, & watching the fight. Thank goodness he won! Here's one last pic that I thought was funny...my DD for the night! hahaha!

10 months...double digits!

I can't believe my baby girl has officially hit the double digits! Ahhhh...before we know it she's going to be a year old! I'm so excited and sad at the same time. She is growing up sooo fast! These days you'll find her talking up a storm, eating EVERYTHING in sight (she has a good appetite as you can see in her pics below. hahaha!), and crawling & cruising all over the place. You wouldn't believe how strong her legs are! She has really good balance and can stand by herself for long periods of time, she can even stand from squatting! I know crazy right?! I was so amazed the other day when she stood up, then squatted to get something and then stood up again all without holding onto anything! I guess those ham hocks are muscle after all. hahaha!!! Everyone thinks she is going to be walking within the next month or so and I'm starting to think so too. A part of me wants her to start walking especially since we're going on vacay next month but another part of me doesn't only because that means my baby is really growing up. I still can't get over the fact that she's 10 months old now! Here are her latest monthly pictures. My lil' fashionista is at it again! =) This time she asked to wear her sunglasses in a couple pics...I guess the flash was too bright for her eyes. heehee! I love that little diva! ;)
