37 weeks...and nesting!

I'm 37 weeks today and considered full term...I can't believe how time has flown by! Baby boy can come anyday now, but I'm kind of hoping he hangs in there for another week or so just so I can finish up cleaning & organizing some things around the house and rest a little bit. I've been on maternity leave for a week now and I've noticed this time around I'm in full nesting mode. With Madison I really only nested in her room but with baby boy it's the complete opposite! I've barely done anything with his room (I know...so bad!) but I figured he won't be in there for a few months so why stress myself out and rush?! The rest of the house needs more attention in my opinion so I've been doing everything I can to get it in order before our lil' man gets here. I have a feeling once he's here I won't have much time to do any house chores with two kids under two! Right now I feel like no matter what I do I can't seem to get my house clean/organized! It's so frustrating to me...but I do what I can. Because I'm carrying around this HUGE belly these days it takes a lot out of me to even do the dishes! By the time I'm done my back is KILLIN' me...it sucks! Bending over isn't so easy either...so picking up after a 1 1/2 year old can be a little challenging. Thank God I have Jaime! I think I'd go insane if he weren't around to help me. He does a lot when he's off and still tries to help me even after a long day of work. I still don't know how he does it?! Working 12 hours then coming home to deal with my crazy nesting mode! Poor guy!

You would think with this state of mind baby boy's nursery would be one of the first things on my list to finish but as I said previously there isn't really a point to stress over it since he won't be in there for a few more months. We didn't transition Madison into her room until she was about 4 months old so we'll probably do the same with this guy. Luckily there isn't much to do in his room since it's already painted. I guess it was a good idea we picked a sage green color when we had it painted a few years back...it goes perfectly with the bedding we chose for him. Just to switch it up a little bit I'm trying to convince Jaime to paint an accent wall...we'll see how that goes. I'll make sure to post pictures once we finally finish it...in a few months! hahaha! The main things that need to be done like his closet & dresser are all set to go. I have it organized by color and size..all the necessary items like clothes, blankets, etc. are washed and ready for baby boy's arrival. All I have left to do is pack my hospital bag which I'm hoping to have done this weekend. I have my next prenatal appointment in a little over a week. If we make it to that appointment I'll make sure to give you an update. For now here is my latest bump pic. All I can say is WOA! I look like I'm going to pop! hahaha!!!

Pismogiving

This year my family and I spend Thanksgiving at one of our favorite vacation spots...Pismo Beach! We celebrated Thanksgiving there once before a few years back so we decided to do it again this year. We left the day before Thanksgiving and came home the following Saturday. I wasn't sure how the weather was going to be but it turned out perfect! The first day was a little overcast but the rest were BEAUTIFUL! We all had such a great time! This was actually Madison's first trip to Pismo so we were very excited to see if she would like it as much as we do. As you can tell from some of the pictures below she LOVED it...especially the water! We (well should I say daddy, auntie, & cousins since I couldn't keep up) had to chase her & grab her before she ran in the ocean. Crazy little girl!!! Here are some pictures from our great weekend. Can't wait to go back...maybe in a few months since I'll be on maternity leave! ;)

First stop...Splash Cafe for their famous clam chowder. It's tradition! =)
Our lovely view for the weekend
Our pretty girl playing peek-a-boo with mommy
Checking out the scenery
Building a sand castle with her cousin then...snack time!

The beautiful sunset
Good eats...
Happy Thanksgiving from my fam to yours (minus Madison since she was taking a power nap)
Some of the fam enjoying the great weather
Playing in the dunes & at the beach
Bonfire time
Last day to play in the sand =(
My water baby can't get enough of the beach!

28 weeks...hello 3rd trimester!

Today marks the beginning of my last trimester...I am now 28 weeks! Can you believe it?! Time is flying...before you know it baby boy will be here! I am sooo excited and nervous at the same time. Everyone I know that have babies close in age tell me it will be a challenge in the beginning, but it's so worth it in the end and much easier too. Thank goodness! =)

I'm so curious as to how the temperament of this baby will be...Madison definitely gave us a run for our money and still does but you gotta love her for it. hahaha! She is so "spunky", if that's what you want to call it =) and she always keeps us on our toes! She never ceases to amaze us these days with the things she does and says. For instance one of our faves is when you ask her what she wants to eat...she says "ummm..." like she is really thinking about it. Hilarious! It's even funnier when she opens the pantry door to look what's inside. And that's not even half of  it! She is sooo smart...I'd say a little too smart for her own good sometimes! ;)

Anyhoo...back to my pregnancy...I'm definitely feeling A LOT bigger this time around and I'm sure you'll be able to tell in my latest bump pic. The good thing is I'm still on track with my weight gain and although I look bigger I actually weigh less than I did when I was pregnant at this time with Madison...so weird! Other than all the normal preggo symptoms I'm feeling ok. I had the flu a few weeks ago which really sucked but luckily it only lasted a day or so. I'm still able to get around pretty easily but it sure is getting harder to put my boots on and take them off...Jaime actually helps me out sometimes! hahaha! It's cute. For now here is my latest bump pic. I have an appt with my doctor in a couple weeks to see how baby boy and I are doing. I'll keep you all posted!

Trick or treat!

Happy Halloween from my lil' cupcake to yours! ;)

This year we took Madison trick or treating around our neighborhood since it's grown so much. This is the first time she has actually gone out and she had a great time! Everyone got a kick out her costume and thought it was so cute. Unfortunately, we had to take her cherry hat off & put on a short sleeve shirt since it was so warm outside. She was pretty pooped by the end of the night and couldn't wait to eat her "pop" aka lollipop. Here are a couple of pics of our lil' cupcake...isn't she the cutest?! Daddy and I think so! =)

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!

Pumpkin hunting time!

Since Jaime has been working a really crazy schedule lately with odd days off I decided to take a weekday off so we could take Madison to the pumpkin patch. It worked out perfectly that my parents were watching her cousin Danica that day so we were able to take both of them. Instead of driving all the way out to Wheatland, like we did the year before, we took them to the local pumpkin patch in Dixon which is famous for their large corn maze. Considering it was October I would have never thought we'd be putting Madison in shorts and t-shirt to look for a pumpkin especially since I remember last year we had her all bundled up with a beanie. My how the weather is off this year but I'm not complaining! I'm enjoying the sun as much as possible...I love it!

Anyway, the girls had a GREAT time! Here a few pictures Jaime captured of the day.
Unfortunately, I was feeling a little under the weather so I hung out in the shade most of the time. I really wanted to get a family picture of us but as time went on the worse I felt! I ended up getting really sick (as in running to the bathroom) and wasn't able to take any pictures. =( I was so bummed but I guess there's always next year!

Madiboo's 1st haircut!

Since Jaime and I both had the day off we decided to take Madison to get her first haircut before going to the pumpkin patch with her cousin. Her hair wasn't super long but it definitely needed a trim...especially her bangs so we took her to the kids hair salon here in town. I wasn't sure how she was going to react to some stranger touching her hair but she did suprisinlgy well. She was really into the car she sat in so that kept her busy while the lady cut her hair. Here are a few pictures I thought I'd share. So proud of my lil' munchkin!

Before picture
Here we go!

Almost done...yay! =)

Take me out to the ball game...

Today we took Madison to her very 1st baseball game. My family and I have always been fans of the San Francisco Giants so we thought it would be fun to all go to a game together. We had such a great time! The weather was PERFECT and the food (especially the garlic fries) were delicious! ;) To make things even better it was dog day at the park so there were a bunch of cute dogs there...some were even dressed up for the costume contest they were having. Madison LOVED it! Here is a picture of my growing fam in the front of the park.

And here are a few more that we took from our fun day...we can't wait to go back again next season!

18 week check up

So this morning I went in to see the doctor for my 18 week check up. We went over all my lab results and the doctor said everything looked good including my blood pressure & weight. Phew! We also listed to the baby's heartbeat again and this time his/her heart rate was around 150 (last time it was 155-160). That was an interesting surprise since Madison's was consistently 155 at all my appts. While the doctor was looking for baby's heartbeat she mentioned how active he/she was. I thought that was pretty funny considering I've been feeling him/her moving a lot in the last week or so. I had forgotten what it felt like so when I first noticed it made me realize how much I missed that feeling. It also reminded me...there really is a baby in there & I'm not just gaining weight. hahaha! So here is our latest bump pic.

You can definitely tell the baby is growing. I swear I look like I'm over 5 months and not 4 1/2. The funny thing is that even though I look much bigger than when I was pregnant with Madison I weigh less. Isn't that crazy?! I can still wear most of my regular jeans and haven't had to put on any maternity pants yet! We'll see how much longer that lasts. hahaha! I'm thinking...if I'm lucky I'll have another week or two before putting on the stretchy pants. =) We're suppose to find out if Madison is going to have a baby brother or sister very soon. I'll keep you all posted...

1 Little Girl...

So I just had to share this cute little video that my sister-in-law, Kayla, made. It was a total surprise and I'm not sure if it's my preggo hormones or what but it totally made me cry. I know...funny right?! I just couldn't help it...I guess the video reminded me of how much my baby girl has grown & the fun times we had when Jaime's family came to visit. I ♥ the video and can watch it over & over again. Thank you sissy! We love you!

Just for fun!

For a couple weeks now my coworker (who is due 4 days after me) and I have been talking about trying IntelliGender (an over-the-counter test you can buy that supposedly determines the gender of your baby). At first we were a little skeptical and decide to just wait until we had our ultrasound appointments in a few weeks to find out, but then our curiousity got the best of us and we bit the bullet and each bought a test. We figured why not...it would be fun to do it together and it will be interesting to see who's test is right or wrong. We know we can't really rely on the results so it would be purely for entertainment purposes.

So this morning was the big day...we both agreed to do it before work since it requires the use of your first morning urine. We text each other right away with our results. According to the test Jaime & I are having a baby...

My coworker got the same result...I already assumed hers was going to say boy, but I forsure thought mine would come out girl. It'll be interesting to see what the real results are at the end of the month.  I'm definitely not relying on this test, but it was a lot of fun to do...especially since I had someone doing it with me. I'll keep you all posted in a couple weeks to let you know if it was right or not.
